Is there a minimum order requirement for screen printing?
Our minimum order is 12 pieces. However, we strongly recommend that you order more as buying the minimum is not economical in the long run. Make us earn our money.
How long will it take to recieve my order?
Most orders will be printed within 7-10 days upon approval of artwork and reciept of payment and apparel if applicable. Shipping will add 2-5 more days. So expect your order to take from 10-14 days total. We will give you our best estimate when you place your order, however due to common unforseen occurances, we can't guarantee a specific date. One more time for emphasis: We don't guarantee a specific date! If you need your shirts by a certain date, please ask first and be aware that a 50% rush fee may apply.
What about artwork? Do I have to provide it?
You can provide your own art, or if you just plain stink at design and are willing to admit it, our design department can help you out with a design that almost doesn't stink. Our normal art fee for screen printed items is $30 per hour.
If I want to provide my own art, how do I do it?
It's easy! Just e-mail the art to art@newellgraphics.net. We accept a wide variety of formats including .ai, .cdr, .eps. We also accept jpeg, tif and word formats, but an additional fee may apply to get these formats ready to print. We'll let you know up front.
What size should I make my art?
Just keep in mind that the maximum width is 13" and the maximum height is 14" . 11-12" is a good width for a back print. For front pocket prints, 3.5-4.5" wide is standard. For front center prints, it's really all personal preference. 6-12" is common.
What kind of shirts do you print on?
For waterbased prints, cotton shirts work the best. We can also print on lighter colored 50/50's. However, we cannot print on darker 50/50's or 100% polyester with the waterbased inks. We have a wide variety of shirts available including fashion fit, organic cotton, bamboo, recycled, long sleeve, fleece and non shirt items like totes and aprons. For general sports or business apparel, our favorite brands are Anvil and Jerzees. But we ultimately leave the choice up to you.
How do I pay?
As of October 13, 2008, we now require 100% payment before beginning any order. We accept Paypal but prefer that you send a check or money order to:
Newell Services
1346 Garnet St.
Burlington, IA 52601
Personal checks will require 7-10 days to clear, so please add that time to our normal turn-around time.
If I order the shirts, how can I be sure that the quantities are correct?
It seems that many suppliers have become a bit sloppy in their packing procedures. If you're ordering your own shirts to be printed, PLEASE provide us with the order. (Sizes, Quantities, Styles etc.) We will count the shirts to make sure the order is complete before printing. If we do not have this information available when the order goes to press, we will print the shirts anyway. Any mistakes in the order will then be your responsibility.
How do you handle misprints?
Unfortunately, at Newell Graphics, it has been determined that we are imperfect. I know, it's quite shocking to us too. Mistakes sometimes happen. Please account for this when you place your order. We always suggest ordering 1 extra of each size. If we don't need to print it, we won't. We'll just send you the blank shirt for future orders. If you don't send extras, just be aware that a 2% mess up rate is industry standard. We will not charge you for our mistakes and we will also compensate you for the ruined garment if you purchased it. However, we cannot reprint it at a later date without additional set up fees. In most cases, we don't mess up shirts, but please be aware that it CAN happen.
Is there anything you won't print?
Yes. We choose not to print anything religious in nature or offensive. If you would like to know why, feel free to contact us.
